Qualification 

For citizens in India intending for admission to the Combined Medical Service Examination 2023, a candidate should have passed the written and practical parts of the final M.B.B.S. Examination.

Relaxation in Upper Age 

There is also provision for relaxation in the prescribed upper age limit. The UPSC will follow the rules drafted for relaxation by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (Department of Health) at the recruitment process.

Application Fee UPSC CMS EXAM 2023

As per the UPSC Medical Service Exam Notification 2023, the applicants’ categories have been divided into two groups. Categories General, EWS, and OBC are of one group, and the rest categories SC, ST, and PWD are of another group.

As the table above indicates, the candidates of categories General/ EWS/ OBC will have to pay an amount of ₹ 200 as an application fee.

But the candidates of other than the above categories are exempted from the payment of the examination fee.

A payment gateway has been integrated to the web application designed and used in the recruitment process that accepts payments through either Internet Banking or Credit Card/ Debit Card or UPI.

 but some candidates who don’t have any of the above payment resources will also be able to apply for UPSC CMS Exam 2023 by using “ Pay in Cash”, the second option for fee payment.

 Applicants who don’t have online payment resources will have to opt for “Pay in cash” while filling up the details in the prescribed online application form.

UPSC CMSE 2023 Selection Process

  • Written Examination
    • Written examination with a maximum of 500 marks will be carried out in two papers(250 marks each). The components and syllabi of the two Papers and the weightage of different components in the two papers have been explained in Appendix – I.
  • Interview
    • The objective of the interview is to assess the candidate’s suitability for the post he/ she has completed.  The interview process will be conducted for 100 marks. 
  • Document Verification
    • The Commission will take up verification of eligibility conditions with reference to original documents only for those candidates who have qualified for the Interview/Personality Test.
  • Medical Examination
    • Prior to joining the service, the commission will conduct a medical test of all the finally selected candidates to ensure their fitness of candidates.  Any candidate who doesn’t meet the medical fitness criteria will not get the joining later.
