Requisite Eligibility Criteria for Central Teacher Eligibility Test January 2024

Indians willing to join Central Teacher Eligibility Test 2024 to be held in January 2024 must meet the basic educational qualifications set for admission to the test.

Class I to V –

  • Applicants must have passed Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks or its equivalent and passed or are about to appear in the final year examination of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. Or
  • Willing Indian applicants must have passed Senior Secondary with at least 45% marks or its equivalent and passed or are about to appear in the final year examination of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education as per NCTE 2002 norms. Or
  • Indian willing to join CTET January 2024 exam must have passed Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks or its equivalent and passed or are about to appear in the final year examination of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). Or
  • Aspirants willing to join CTET 2024 must have passed Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks or its equivalent and passed or are about to appear in the final year examination of a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).

The recruitment rules of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan or Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti will be applied to the recruitment of teachers.

All these rules are governed by the Government of India in which these schools are situated. 

Class VI to VIII –

  • Willing applicants must have passed with at least 50% marks either in Graduation or Post-Graduation and passed or are about to appear in the final year examination of Bachelor in Education (B. Ed). Or
  • Applicants must have passed Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or are about to appear in the final examination of a one-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE Norms Or
  • Applicants willing to join CTET 2024 in January must have passed Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks or its equivalent and passed or are about to appear in the final examination of a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). Or
  • Applicants who are willing to join CTET 2024 in January must have passed Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks or its equivalent and passed or are to appear in the final year examination of a 4-year B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed. Or
  • Graduate applicants with at least 50% marks and passed or are about to appear in the final year examination of a one-year B.Ed. / (B.Ed Special Education).
  • Indians who have completed a B. Ed. course recognized by the NCTE are eligible to appear in TET/CTET. Moreover, as per the existing TET guidelines circulated vide NCTE letter dated 11-02-2011, a person who is pursuing any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Notification dated 23rd August 2010 is also eligible to appear in the TET/CTET. Or
  • Applicants who have a post-graduation degree with a minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade and passed or are to appear in the final year of a three-year integrated B. Ed./M. Ed.
