The Union Public Service Commission has released release a notification of UPSC IES ISS Recruitment 2023 on 18th April 2023. The notice released on the day mentioned earlier is for the Indian Economic Service Examination 2023 and Indian Statistical Service Examination 2023. 

The said Commission has prepared for processing details from the eligible applicants and so is asking for submission of their details from the 19th of April 2023. The date 9th May 2023 will be the crucial day since the day will be the last day for submission of details through the prescribed online application form.

Educational Qualification Need for UPSC IES ISS Recruitment 2023 

Indian Economic Service (IES) – 

Indian citizens who are willing to receive a grant for admission to the Indian Economic Service Examination 2023 must have the Post-Graduate Degree in Economics/ Applied Economics/ Business Economics/ Econometrics from a recognized University/institution.

Indian Statistical Service (ISS) – 

Indian citizens who are willing to receive a grant for admission to the Indian Statistical Service Examination 2023 must have the Bachelor’s Degree with Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Applied Statistics as one of the subjects or master’s degree in Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Applied Statistics from a recognized University/institution.

Age Limit on 1st August 2023

Relaxation in Upper Age for Reserved Candidates of UPSC IES ISS Recruitment 2023 

There is also provision for relaxation in the prescribed upper age limit. The UPSC will follow the rules drafted for relaxation during the recruitment process.

Application Fee UPSC IES ISS Recruitment 2023

As per the IES ISS notification 2023, the categories have been divided into two groups. Categories General/ EWS/ OBC are of one group and rest categories SC/ST/PWD are of another group.

As the table above indicates, the candidates of categories General/ EWS/ OBC will have to pay an amount of ₹ 200 as application fee.

But the candidates of other than the above categories are exempted from the payment of examination fee.

A payment gateway has been integrated to the web application designed and used in the recruitment process that accepts payments through either Internet Banking or Credit Card/ Debit Card or UPI.

 but some candidates who don’t have any of the above payment resources will also be able to apply for UPSC IES Exam 2023 and UPSC ISS Exam 2023 by using “ pay in case” , the second option for fee payment.

 Applicants who don’t have the online payment resources will have to opt “ pay in cash” while filling up the details in the prescribed online application form.

UPSC IES ISS Recruitment 2023 Selection Process

• Written Examination
  • Written examination carrying a maximum of 1000 marks will be carried out. Following subjects have been included and 1000 marks distributed among them.
  •  Indian economic Service Examination

• Indian  Statistical Service Examination

• Interview
  •  The object of the interview is  to assess the suitability of the candidate for the post for which he/ she has  completed.  The interview process   will be conducted for 200 marks. 
• Document Verification
  • The Commission will take up verification of eligibility conditions with reference to original documents only  only for those candidates who have qualified for Interview/Personality Test.
• Medical Examination
  • Prior to joining the service the commission will conduct a medical test of all the finally selected candidates to ensure fitness of candidates.  Any candidate who doesn’t meet the medical fitness criteria will not get the joining later.

The Union Public Service Commission will conduct a combined competitive examination in light of the Rules published by the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation in the Gazette of India dated the 19th April, 2023

The said combined competitive examination is to be held on 29th June 2023.

• Graduate and Postgraduate Indian citizens  intending for participation in either Indian economic examination 2023 or Indian status Service examination 2023 must ensure their eligibility by going through the published public notification on 18th April 2023.

• On clicking the link or by doing the alternative steps you will get access to the login page designed for applicants who are willing to apply for IES and ISS examination 2023. 
• Sign up yourself if this is  your first visit to this login page otherwise you will have to just log in by Supplying your user id and password in the desired area on the registration page.
•  Fill out the details asked in the online application prescribed for Indian Economic Service Examination and Indian Statistical Service Examination 2023.
• Review your details filled on the prescribed online application form  before hitting the submit button for sending the details into the  UPSC server.
•  Without prescribed fee your application will be summarily rejected,  so you have to ensure your successful transition of fee if you come under  any of the categories on which application fee has been levied.
•  You must take the print out of your final submission where all details such as your registration number, name, successful submission of filled application, and successful transition of fee have been mentioned.
