Indian citizens who are willing to participate in this examination should ensure that they fulfill all eligibility criteria required for admission to this examination.
Satisfying prescribed eligibility conditions for each stage is provisional and will ensure admission to each stage of the examination.
Document verification of candidates with reference to its original document will take up for those candidates who will qualify for the interview /personality test.

Academic Qualification Required for UPSC GEO Scientist Preliminary Examination 2023
Geologist Group “A” –
A candidate who is willing for admission to the stage – I Combined GEO Scientist Examination 2022 must have a Master’s Degree in Geological Science or Geology or Applied Geology or Geo- Exploration from a recognized institution/university. Or
Any other discipline mentioned in respect of this position in the official notification from a recognized institution/university.
Geophysicist Group “A” –
A candidate who is willing for admission to the stage – I Combined GEO Scientist Examination 2022 must have a Master’s Degree in Physics or Applied Physics or Geo-Physics. Or
Any other discipline mentioned in the official notification in respect of this position from a recognized institution/university.
Chemist Group “A” –
A candidate who is willing for admission to the stage – I Combined GEO Scientist Examination 2022 must have a Master’s Degree in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry from a recognized institution/university.
Scientist “B” (Hydrogeology) Group “A” –
A candidate who is willing for admission to the stage – I Combined GEO Scientist Examination 2022 must have a Master’s Degree in Hydrology or Geology or Applied Geology or Marine Geology from a recognized institution/university.
Scientist “B” (Chemical) Group “A” –
A candidate who is willing for admission to the stage – I Combined GEO Scientist Examination 2022 must have a Master’s Degree in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry from a recognized institution/university.
Scientist “B” (Geophysics) Group “A” –

The commission has divided candidates into two categories. The table laid above clearly shows the category of candidates and the respective examination fees.
Candidates other than SC/ST/ PwD/Female will have to pay the examination fee of INR 200 through any of the payment processes chosen during filling up the application form.
Those who opt for online payment while filling up the application form can remit their fees by Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit Card/UPI Payment.
The integrated payment gateway I will also accept the mentioned fees through the internet banking of any Bank in India.
The application form also offers “Pay in cash” process for those candidates who don’t have any of the above-mentioned payment services.
